Some of you are raising children, some of you have grown children, and some of you are considering having children. All of you were at one time a child. What am I getting at? A mother’s prayer life is like no other. It centers and revolves around her family. My family thinks that their life revolves around me (as if!) but au contraire my dear one, they are the center of my everything. So today I am sharing a very intimate part of my heart.
Lord, when I am with you, in the quiet of my heart, opening my treasure box and offering up the gifts that are most precious to me, I hold them closely and pray without ceasing over them. I have many prayers but one that I will not stop coming to you with. My heart is heavy with this each new day. A hope that I trust only You with – my husband and our two boys. Lord, I pray for their health, their safety, their hearts and minds, for their protection, for the choices they make, for their future, their friendships and for their relationship with You. The list is unending.
So I ask you friends, is it wrong to want them to succeed? Is it wrong to want them to shine brightly? Is it wrong to want them to be good great witnesses for God? Is it wrong to want them to be good stewards of their gifts and talents?
Is this my desire from God, or did God put this desire, to pray for them without ceasing, in my heart? Is it because of my pride that I can’t let go of constantly praying this for them? Or is it lack of trusting God? I want them to soar high, yet be humble, to be filled with compassion and empathy yet strong and bold. I want them to be real with Jesus, with themselves and with the world. I want them to be courageous and I want them to have a faith like no other. I pray their passion is to follow our Savior and by following Him they will be fueled and able to endure. I want them to reach their potential, their FULL potential. And to fulfill the plans God has for them.
Do I pray this out of my own personal fears of the unknown? Don’t I trust my Father in Heaven hears my requests and will bless them? Or is it because I want to tell the world I believe what God can do for those who “love Him with all their heart, all their mind and all their strength” (Deuteronomy 6:5).
So yes, my utmost prayer is that my husband and I are united in Christ and together we raise up our young boys into faith filled men. Leading them in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6). Preparing them all the while to be warriors for Christ (Ephesians 6:10-18). To get them ready for what may come by focusing their hearts and minds on Christ. I pray for them to know Him in ALL circumstances, whether big or small, good or bad. I pray that they trust our Father in Heaven to be with them through it all.
Yup, my man and two boys are my kryptonite BUT God is my superhero and He’s got my back.
PRAY (1 Thessalonians 5:16)…TRUST (Proverbs 3:5)…BELIEVE (Hebrews 11:1)…and BE (Psalm 46:10).
Now It’s Your Turn.

This is truly a desire God put on your mommy/wife heart! To pray for all that is possible through/with God for your family is also a reflection of His divine love for you. “Now to Him who is able to do immeasuably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us. ” (Eph 3:20) That’s some awesome superhero power! Love this!!!

Love this. Thank you for voicing so eloquently what we all feel in our hearts. Whether our children are little or not so little — we just want them to love Jesus and love others.
