Join us as we learn about finding our identity in Christ by studying Galatians chapter 3. In this series, Holly, Shay, Emily, and Cindy discuss the challenges we face in our quest to live out our conviction that the goals God has for us cannot be accomplished through human effort.
Continue ReadingComfort, Caution, and Confidence from the Psalms
We find the book of Psalms near the center of our Bible. Written by David and numerous other authors, these songs, prayers and poems celebrate God with praise and worship, cry out to God from the depths of despair, and everything in between. The honesty of the Psalms can guide us into a deep and genuine relationship with God. Join Holly, Marilyn, Viv, and Jan as we focus on how the Psalms comfort us, caution us, and instill confidence in the one true God.
Continue ReadingOld Testament Themes
Why is the Old Testament important for us today? Whether taken as a whole or chapter by chapter, the Old Testament consistently points us to Jesus, points us to our need for a Savior, and teaches us about God as our Father. What better way to learn more about God than through His very own word? Join us as Holly, Jan, Shay, and Romy dig a little deeper to explore five themes from the Old Testament over five weeks: covenant, kingship, grace, sacrifice, and prophecy.

“They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised.” Romans 1:25 This might seem crazy to us. Why would anyone exchange the truth for a lie, especially about God? The word “exchange” makes the context seem quite voluntary, an idea which is supported in the surrounding verses. On the surface, it’s easy for us to say we could never be so foolish. But could we?
In this study we try to understand how this can and does happen and learn how to avoid it. Join Holly, Amy, and Karen as we discuss what the truth about God really is so we can recognize when we are tempted to make the one true God into a god that fits our conveniences or lifestyle.

Leaving behind our old way of life is both a once-for-all decision when we accept Christ’s gift of salvation and also a daily decision as we strive to take the focus off of our desires and focus on God’s truth. Join Holly, Romy, and Jan as we talk about what it means to “put on Christ” each day. Our conversation is based on Ephesians 4:22-24 “to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”
Continue ReadingThe Humility of Christ
WWJD? The “What Would Jesus Do?” movement of the 90s had Christians everywhere asking themselves this question in an effort to model the behavior of Christ while He was on earth. Philippians 2:5 tells us that even “[our] attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” This is one of the reasons humility is considered a benchmark for the Christian heart. During Jesus’ time on earth, He was a servant when He should have been a king. But how can we grow in humility all the while surrounded by a culture where we are told that humility should take a back seat to self-confidence? Join Holly, Carol S., Romy, and Ally as we look to Philippians 2: 1-11 for answers.
