Faithful Love

February 3, 2025 by Carol C. Filed Under: Blog 4 Comments

Ninety-three million miles from Earth, our nearest star shines brightly enough to warm our planet and sustain life. We don’t question if the sun will still be shining tomorrow. We may wonder if our planet might be covered in clouds, bringing rain or snow. But we know that behind those clouds, the sun continues to shine.

So it is with God’s love and faithfulness. We don’t need to question if God loves us. He demonstrates that every day, every week, every season, and every year. He has promised to love us: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23, ESV).

God’s greatest demonstration of love is His giving of His Son, Jesus, who died that we might enjoy freedom from the penalty of our wrongdoing, our neglecting to do good, and our choosing hate over mercy. God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8, NIV).  All we need to do is to accept God’s gift of mercy and love. Claim God’s promises. Claim God’s gift.

Thank you, Fela. Yes, Jesus paid it all, as the old hymn states.
      Blessings.
