Welcome to Study With Friends. Our group of “Friends” was beautifully varied throughout this series, “Knowing the Bible.” Each “session” has the same friends, as we did them in one sitting. There are three sessions in this series, so three different sets of friends. They break up into different “parts” as we edited the content down for you to have in small, manageable pieces. I think you will find the entire series to be a blessing.
The first few segments are from our first recording EVER, so please have some grace for the sound quality. In the first session of the series, “What does it mean to know the Bible?” we learn that some people can know the Bible, even observe the “laws” found within, without understanding the spirit of the Word, which is Jesus. We explore what it meant to know God’s word in the Old and New Testament times and we discuss some mistakes believers can make when approaching scripture. Then we move on to ask whether someone can have a relationship with Jesus and NOT know the Bible. What consequences could result?
The second session of the series, “Why is important to know the bible” gives some concrete reasons for (and results of) knowing the bible. You will hear some faithful women give testimony to why it is important to them personally. Then we are asking some hard questions and really digging in.
Finally we will chat about “How do we know the Bible” and tackle some really practical ways to get in there. This is a great session for beginners and mature Christians alike, as we will take a workshop approach and give tools for independent study.
This is looking like a ten part series, I am loading the beginning before I have finished editing the end (faith!!) so I hope it blesses you over a long period of time. I know it blessed me, as it always does, to spend time in the word and study with friends.
Here are the documents you will need for session one, parts 1-3:

A friend asked me about the Bereans in last weeks lesson. Here’s a link if you are wondering about those folks too…
