“They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised.” Romans 1:25 This might seem crazy to us. Why would anyone exchange the truth for a lie, especially about God? The word “exchange” makes the context seem quite voluntary, an idea which is supported in the surrounding verses. On the surface, it’s easy for us to say we could never be so foolish. But could we?
