We spend this broadcast in a group workshop on how to find relevant scripture for whatever we have going on in our life. This exercise will help us learn how, in the most practical way, to use God’s Word in everyday life. We used the book “Where to find it in the Bible” by Ken Anderson, and strongly recommend this resource for your home library. For this workshop, we start by reading through some scripture ‘staples’ which are verses from the Bible that can potentially cover many situations and circumstances in our lives. They are listed in the homework, which you can find here:
Using God’s Word in Everyday Life
We hope that you find some relevant scripture in this workshop to use in your life right now!
A few other verses that came up but are not in the homework are: 1 Timothy 4:8 and Ephesians 2:10
*This ministry starts as a Bible study recorded in Holly’s house. We love the intimacy that creates and hope you feel the comradery we experience together. However, the recording equipment we used during this particular series (early in the life of the ministry) picked up the dog barking…barking a lot. We extend our apologies for that sound quality issue. Maybe we will put his picture and bio on the page next time, he sure had a lot to say.
Beth says
I could relate with Caroline in that I am struggling with trying to be a good wife and mother to my husband and children. The fact that Caroline said it out loud made me feel like ok I’m not the only one. Though I know I am supposed to take all of my worries to God through prayer, sometimes talking with other women helps too.
After re-reading each scripture that was mentioned in this broadcast, I feel that 2 Timothy 1:7 spoke to me the most in the place that I am in my life. “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” I feel like its ok to share what I have to offer the world, and if they accept it great and if they don’t it doesn’t really matter because God has accepted me and in the end, He is the only one I need to please.
