In this series we tackle the above question, How do we know the Bible, in a very practical way. We take a step by step approach, providing tools and tactics for your everyday use in studying the Word. Later, we dive into a workshop where those of us around the microphone actually select, at random, some passages and see if these tools and tactics really help. This week it is particularly helpful to have the homework in front of you, that link is below.
If you are looking for a real-life approach to studying God’s word, this is the series for you! Write your comments below, let us know how you do with the tools we are discussing, or share some of your own!

Remembering the “big picture” of God’s message to us: simply that He loves us and is there to listen wherever and whenever. Knowing that He is lighting my way out of the darkness is so comforting especially now in this time of my life. I chose my own random passage and it was Luke 2:8-12. In my Bible, the notes regarding this important passage said the following “He comes to anyone with a heart humble enough to accept him.” Wow does that speak volumes! I don’t think I would have received that as it is meant to be received a few years ago.

Wow, I just love the simplicity of the method taught here! How often I overlook those three questions. I just wrote each question inside the front cover of my current Bible study. I can’t wait to share with the other women in my study.
One way I try to take that time to simply praise God without getting bogged down is through music. I created a playlist of praise songs with the criteria that the lyrics are about God and not about me. I listen to it every morning on the way to work and try hard to push the “to-do” list in my head to the back for that brief time. What are some other ways we can focus on God and his attributes?
