Child of God

November 5, 2018 by Amy L Filed Under: Blog Leave a Comment

I have been going through some really difficult times.  Truly, everybody has something that they’re dealing with in this life. It’s just that I’ve been traveling down the divorce road for more than two years now.  We’ve had some stumbling blocks and one major road block where we couldn’t move forward.  We are now moving forward with lots of meetings and lots of lawyers.

We have children, so we have to figure out what will work best for them.  They are old enough to have a say, but it is still so difficult.  We don’t’ really agree on anything so we’ll have lots more meetings with our lawyers in court.  It is so extremely stressful and anxiety-provoking.

I ask friends and family members for prayers as I go through this very difficult process.  It is really important to me to stay in God’s word and ways.  I want to lead a life of which God will say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” ( Matthew 25:21)

With that in mind, I have been questioning why all of this is happening.  I’m questioning God. I know that God can handle my questions, but I need to find the answers.  I know that God is who He says He is.  I know He can do what He says He can do.  But do I really believe that when things get really scary? Do I believe that He will show up?  Can I really put the fate of my children in God’s hands?  Can I put all my earthly treasures and possessions in God’s hands? I know these treasures on earth are not the important things, but once my mind starts down this path, I just kept on questioning, spinning out of control.  Can I trust that God is going to show up?  He has so many times before, yet I am questioning if he’ll show up for me again, or have I used up all my favors?  I am scared!

So, I ask for more prayers, again.  Specifically that God will show up for me.  As I search for God’s answers, I’ve been reading the Bible, reviewing some studies and some other books written by those who believe in Jesus too.

I’ve been stopped in my tracks.  I feel convicted that it’s ok to question, as long as I continue to search for God’s answers.  He gives them; He gave them.

“For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.” (Galations 3:26)  I AM A CHILD OF GOD!

“…and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” (Romans 8:17)   I AM AN HEIR WITH HIS SON JESUS CHRIST!

“God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.”  (Psalm 46:5)                          GOD IS WITHIN ME, I WILL NOT FALL; GOD WILL HELP ME AT BREAK OF DAY!

I seemed to have forgotten all that God has done for me and shown me in the past.  God shows up.  So I don’t know why I believe the lies.  I want to remember that I am all these things God tells me I am.  I am a child of God, an heir.  Fear is NOT of God.  Max Lucado states that I am to “come, not with the hope of a possible victory, but with assurance of complete victory.”

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. “  (Phil 4:13) I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME!

“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.”  (Proverbs 31:25) I AM CLOTHED WITH STRENGTH AND DIGNITY; I CAN LAUGH AT THE DAYS TO COME.

I know I still have a long road ahead of me, many more meetings and lawyers and court dates. I am so thankful that I know, I truly know that God has shown up and will continue to show up.  I know who I am, and who you are, in God.  I know I can question God and find the answers that He has for my life.  I pray that I will continue to search for God’s way and be able to truly say, “thy will be done”.  I have learned over the years that God’s ways are always so much better than mine.

I hope that this gives you encouragement to know who you are in Christ.

YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD, AN HEIR AND YOU ARE BLESSED. YOU ARE CLOTHED WITH STRENGTH AND DIGNITY. YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO GIVES YOU STRENGTH AND HE WILL HELP YOU AT DAYBREAK. GOD IS WITHIN YOU.
