Better Things Ahead

July 31, 2023 by Alysa Filed Under: Blog 2 Comments

Time has been on my mind a lot lately. I find myself contemplating how fast it goes and how much things change. I realize how true this is because so much is different now than just 5 years ago, while 15 years ago seems like a different lifetime altogether. Memories make it possible to evaluate the force of time upon our lives; they are windows into what transpired.

Cleaning House

July 18, 2023 by Marilyn Filed Under: Blog 2 Comments

I have never enjoyed cleaning our house. It’s gratifying to walk into a neat and spotless home, but that gratification is so transient! One or two days later, there’s junk on the kitchen floor (I’m a messy cook, no matter how hard I try to be otherwise), crumbs on the sofa (one who shall remain nameless likes to eat in front of the TV), fingerprints on various surfaces, etc. Frustrating!

It’s What’s on the Inside that Matters

July 3, 2023 by Kathy C Filed Under: Blog 1 Comment

Last weekend was really busy.  My son graduated from high school and we were going from party to party. It has been an unseasonably cool late spring but on Saturday the sun came roaring back in with no cloud cover to be seen for miles. What I would deem “gorgeous weather.” As we enjoyed our time in plastic chairs with no shade in sight, reminiscing about the past years and looking forward to the future, I found myself starting to sweat profusely.

The Aloe Plant

June 19, 2023 by Jessica Filed Under: Blog 3 Comments

I do not have a green thumb or the memory to water plants. Heck, I hardly water myself most days. All doubts aside, I bought an aloe plant. I bought plant food, watered it, loved it, gave it the best spot for sunlight, protected it from the elements and for one year that aloe plant grew! And I mean it was a BEAUTY!!!

Light in the Darkness

June 5, 2023 by Christine Filed Under: Blog 3 Comments

How often do we think that something is not working when it is really just doing something we can’t see from our vantage point? We constantly make assumptions based on what we can see. We can’t help it. We can only see what we can see. But there is always more going on. There is always another side, where the dark is waiting for the light.

Where Do You Find Strength?

May 8, 2023 by Carol C. Filed Under: Blog 4 Comments

Many of us walk or exercise in some way to build or maintain our physical strength. I was also wondering about spiritual strength. There’s much evil around us, and we need strength to stand up to it, fight it off, and not get sucked up in it. So, what can we do for spiritual strength?

Ancient of Days

April 10, 2023 by Marilyn Filed Under: Blog Leave a Comment

I’m becoming an old codger. Actually, that is redundant, as the Oxford American Dictionary defines a codger as an elderly man, especially one who is old-fashioned or eccentric. Gender aside, I do tend to cherish things from the “old days.” For instance, I love the “old” hymns. To be fair, maybe it’s not because I’m old-fashioned, but because so many of the old hymns have lyrics so biblical and rich in meaning.

The Significance of the Resurrection

April 24, 2023 by Holly Filed Under: Blog Leave a Comment

Jesus Christ’s resurrection is one of the most important and defining moments in Christian faith. It marks the beginning of a new era, with God’s promise of redemption for all who believe in Him. This miraculous event has great implications for believers…
