Be Still

December 9, 2015 by admin Filed Under: Blog 2 Comments

Be Still.

I have been stuck in the “be still” place. You know that place, between something that you are not happy with and the “what do I do now” place. My husband had an affair 8 years ago for 3 years. I’m just finding out now, 8 years later.

Why Do We Pray?

Why Do We Pray?

We had prayed so hard for the miracle. We rattled the gates of heaven for our mom. She was on so many prayer chains I can’t even tell you how far that reached. So when she died, I got to thinking, what’s the deal? Well, let me try to capture my feelings a little better: WHAT’S THE DEAL?????? I wanted to know, if God is just going to do what He’s going to do anyway, why do we pray?

Full Armor

Full Armor

Pray and ask God to fill you with a desire for His Word and for ways to help you stay in the Scripture daily. You can make excuses about how busy you are, how many kids you have, how close it is to Thanksgiving/Christmas/Festivus and/or the baby is teething. But you and I both know that we always make time for the things we truly want to do.

Childlike Faith

Childlike Faith

Kid’s behavior can be so chaotic sometimes. As an elementary school teacher, random outbursts of flailing arms, haphazard body movements and silly noises are actions that I witness on a daily basis. Most of the time they are typical childlike behaviors. Sometimes they just need to shake their sillies out!

Ways I am Working God’s Word into my kids’ hearts (and my own)

It’s All About You

October 30, 2015 by Erin Filed Under: Blog 2 Comments

It’s All About You

My daughters and I were lazily walking through the mall the other day, and we passed by a clothing store advertising their fall line of sweaters, jackets, and all things pants. On the display window of said store, in bold but discreet lettering, was listed different styles you could find inside. At the end of this list, a phrase caught my eye: It’s all about you.

I stopped dead in my tracks.

Cookie Dough and Righteousness

Cookie Dough and Righteousness

Sometimes we make cookies. Usually they are not from scratch, and I don’t apologize for that. I have a lot going on, most of which revolves around my family, so therefore, if I can’t provide homemade cookies for them they will have to cope with that reality in their lives.

This is Our Semester Abroad

This Is Our Semester Abroad

“Mom, I want to study abroad next semester.”

Sounds innocent enough, right? But she had something specific in mind. As I write this, my daughter is enjoying a semester abroad…in Rwanda, Africa. No, there was no talking her into a semester in Europe. So my husband and I prayed.

The Problem With Blogs

The Problem With Blogs

“…Jeremiah 33:3 is one of my favorite verses on this, because God says ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’  That pretty much covers everything.”
